Dear
Parents,
Our
school was established in 1953 as the only school in
Hong Kong using Mandarin as the medium of instruction.
The number of subjects being taught in English was
increased in 1969, and the school, now classified as
Anglo-Chinese, continued to justify its well-established,
excellent reputation for high academic and moral standards.
Although
children of all backgrounds thrive in our school, we
received many requests from families who wished their
children to study, from Kindergarten to the top Primary
class, in a more predominantly English-speaking environment.
For
this reason, in September 1993 we added an International
Section to the school,
with, as its most important features, English as
the medium of instruction, small classes and a
strong Mandarin component added to a British-based
curriculum,
We believe that this option enables us to serve
more members of the Hong Kong community, whether they
be local residents or expatriates, or whether they
are here temporarily or permanently. |
 |
As
the demand for school places has been increasing steadily
over the years, our International Section has established
an extension in September 2002, and is using part of
the school campus at Kiangsu-Chekiang College on Braemar
Hill Road, North Point, for its upper Primary classes,
I hope you will find our website both interesting and
informative, We are very proud of the work done in
the school, and welcome visitors, whether academic
colleagues or prospective parents. I encourage anyone
with further questions to contact Mrs. Jane Daniel,
the Head Teacher of the International Section, who
will be happy to help you further.
Mr. P. M. Wong, J.P.
Principal
